Members of the UR-WISE project team from the Faculty of Economics, University of Niš took part in the International Conference on Science, Engineering Management and Information Technology (SEMIT 2025) , held from 11–13 September 2025 in Dubai, UAE. The conference, organised in hybrid mode, brought together educators, researchers, industry experts, and students from across the world.
SEMIT 2025 continues a growing tradition of fostering global collaboration, hosting invited keynotes, paper presentations, and workshops addressing advances in engineering management, IT, digital transformation, machine learning, logistics, e-government, and data science. Selected contributions from the conference are considered for publication in the Springer CCIS Book Series and partner journals.
Ivana Marjanović and Jelena Stanković presented their research titled “Citizen-Centered Efficiency Assessment of European Smart Cities: A DEA Perspective”within the thematic session “Machine Learning and Information Technology in Advancing Health, Business, and Environment.” Their presentation offered a data-driven approach to evaluating smart city performance by integrating citizen-centered metrics with Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), a perspective highly aligned with UR-WISE’s commitment to advancing analytical tools for resilient urban and regional development.
Participation of the UR-WISE team in SEMIT 2025 strengthens the project’s international visibility and reinforces its strategic goal of expanding research excellence through collaboration with global academic and professional communities.
